The room here is a good size, and the bathroom is quite spacious too. It has a roll-in shower, hair dryers, and even a bidet. And don't forget about the great breakfast they serve! 🍳.

My wife and I like the cloister concept and the look and feel of the facilities. The staff we very good. We loved the history surrounding the place. The rooms where great and the free mini bar was excellent and stands the hotel apart from you competitors.
The bar area was understaffed. It would be great to extend the pool hours to fit the full daylight hours, which are longer in the summer.

It was an interesting conversion of a convent. The room was large and the bathroom facilities very good. The evening meal was reasonable price and the food and service good. The breakfast was very good. It was quietly located on the edge of a village with interesting buildings and a dam nearby making walking round very enjoyable.
It was only end of April but very warm - too hot in the room and the aircon did not work. The aircon machine was located in the rafters of the room which had no ceiling - it was open plan to the rafters which I did not like - there was an odd smell, and funny noises. The room was large enough to have had the ceiling put in. The free wi fi was not available in the rooms only the reception which was not clear from the advert. The pool was not filled/open which was also not obvious from the booking advert - it does not open till June which maybe standard but it should have been made obvious on the advert or when booking. It was hot enough and little else to do a swim would have been good.

Beautiful old building, full of history. Very nice, peaceful setting, good views of surrounding countryside. Spacious room with balcony and beautiful oak beams. Very comfortable bed. Large, well-lit bathroom. Entertaining to watch the swallows nesting outside our window. Very good breakfasts.
Restaurant staff were not welcoming. They saw us but kept us hovering at the entrance for several minutes. Only after we decided to seat ourselves did one come hurrying over - not to greet us but to ask our room number. (There was no language barrier - we are fluent Spanish speakers and know the culture very well). We were on half board and had a separate menu which was rather poor and our meals arrived lukewarm and overcooked. Cannot recommend. The other problem was the totally inadequate lighting in our room. Very few lamps and low watt bulbs made it impossible to read, work at the computer or even find things in our suitcases. Some decent task lighting would make all the difference to an otherwise beautiful room.

I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a queen room that had its own spacious balcony, a nice touch.

The rooms are very spacious and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are superb. Hotel and surroundings are very quiet and relaxing (1 m thick walls!). Alcantara is a lovely little border town far from the maddening crowds. It offers the splendid nature of the Extremadura and a lot of historical buildings. Beautiful quiet terrace and courtyard.
Swimming pool not ready early June, whilst outside temperature > 30 C .Food in restaurant is expensive and quality is variable Hardly any restaurant choice outside hotel, which explains prices...

The hotel was actually quite easy to find. If you follow your nose. The staff were really good at their jobs and tried very hard to ensure you were well catered for. They did not speak English, but I was able to overcome the language barrier with the aid of a pencil and paper. The hotel is truly delightful and the comments that I had read on the customer remarks, that left me a little pensive, were very soon overcome beacuse of the quality of the food and the standards of preparation. I find that smaller amounts of food well presented allows you to sample other types without overeating. The food and wine were to standard I would expect from a four star hotel and I was not dissappointed.
Perhaps a little out for the way, but if you wish for peace and quiet, absolutely ideal. The air conditioning was out of order and I found it very difficult to sleep - it gets very, very hot in the rooms and if the air conditioning is off you do generally have an unpleasant nights sleep. They did give me a fan but it had little effect on reducing the heat.
